What if the chaos of a city skyline could whisper peace from above?
It was sunset in Charlotte—the Queen City—where progress wears a crown and the skyline reflects ambition and grit. I stood in the heart of Uptown, my drone trembling against the sharp wind like a leaf clinging to a branch. Below, the Bank of America Stadium rose like a modern-day coliseum, home to the Carolina Panthers and witness to countless roars and dreams.
Flying here wasn’t easy. The air traffic, constant motion, and city noise were like the world shouting for attention. But as my drone caught altitude, and the sun dipped behind the steel towers, a hush fell over me. The city sparkled with the soft light of grace, its edges softened by Heaven’s palette—lavender, gold, and rose.
Charlotte—called “The Hornet’s Nest” during the Revolution, “Crown Town” by its fans—felt both ancient and new. This was once Catawba land, later railroad gold, now fintech fire. But for me, it was a chapel in the clouds. I whispered, “Lord, steady this flight.” And He did. Not just the drone, but my heart.
In that moment, I saw not just buildings, but beacons. Not just stadium seats, but souls. The chaos gave way to calling. God reminded me that even here—in high winds and higher buildings—He is still Lord of the skyline and the storm.
It was an incredible experience, photographing the Charlotte Skyline at sunset and being able to fully immerse myself into the culture and history of this city that rises, roars, and rests in the palm of His hand.
