As the sun dipped toward the horizon over Amboseli National Park, I prepared to photograph Craig, one of Africa’s legendary “Big Tuskers.” These rare elephants, with tusks weighing over 45 kilograms each, embody the grandeur of the wild. Craig, at approximately 52 years old, stands as a witness to nature’s resilience, his immense tusks nearly brushing the ground.

Positioned on the ground in his path, I aimed to capture a perspective that showcased his majesty against the vibrant Kenyan sunset. The earthy scent of acacia mingled with distant calls of wildlife, creating an atmosphere both serene and charged with anticipation.
