Could the layers of time be captured in a single photograph?

In the stillness of twilight, the ancient stones of Jerusalem whispered tales of millennia. Perched on the Mount of Olives, my lens was focused on the shimmering Dome of the Rock, a sentinel over the city's sacred history.

As an international photographer, every shutter click is a crossroad of cultures, a melding of past and present. To tell the story of the Dome of the Rock was to delve into the deep chronicles of the first and second Hebrew temples, where the foundation stone of the world is believed to rest, and where prophets walked.

The complexities of traveling across continents were trivial compared to the task of immortalizing this view. The golden dome glowed against the indigo sky, while the sounds of the adhan mingled with church bells, a testament to the city's spiritual tapestry.

Each detail — from the Arabic calligraphy adorning the walls to the echoes of footsteps in the alleys — was a thread in the rich narrative of Jerusalem. I breathed in the air, heavy with the scent of olive trees and ancient earth, and released the shutter.

As the night unfolded, the history of this sacred piece of real estate — once home to the magnificent temples, now a poignant silhouette against the stars — was etched into my memory. It was an incredible experience, capturing the essence of the Dome of the Rock, a jewel in the crown of Jerusalem.
